BOB SEELY ASKS MINISTER TO INCREASE PROTECTIONS FOR SAVANNAH CATS

Isle of Wight MP Bob Seely has asked Lord Benyon, the Minister responsible for animal welfare, to support increased protection for Savannah cats (a hybrid breed of wild and domestic cat).

Mr Seely is seeking to amend the Bill to ban the breeding and import of Savannahs.

MP Bob Seely is seeking to ban the breeding of wild serval cats with domestic cats to produce Savannah hybrids. This mating practice can be painful and dangerous for domestic cats and Savannah hybrids are often abandoned.
