A campaign led by MP Bob Seely to secure a better funding settlement for the Isle of Wight Council has taken a step forward as government officials review evidence submitted by council officers.
Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Donna Jones and Isle of Wight MP Bob Seely are joining forces to host a public meeting to inform Islanders about plans to reduce crime across the Isle of Wight.
MP Bob Seely has taken further steps to tackle ongoing anti-social behaviour in Freshwater by writing to magistrates and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to ask them to support the police in their efforts.
MP Bob Seely has welcomed the government’s decision to ensure a legal right of free access to cash for millions of people. The move will mean that all, including the most isolated and vulnerable in society, can continue to withdraw and deposit cash for free.
Bob Seely MP said: “The focus for the second Islands Forum meeting, based here on the Isle of Wight, was on sharing best practice around skills and opportunities as well as highlighting the challenges that UK islands face.
In a Parliamentary debate on Public Access to Nature (18 May 2023), MP Bob Seely highlighted the importance of the Island’s natural heritage and called for Island-wide environmental protections.
